“autonis” Design Award of “auto motor und sport” goes to new Super GT from British luxury marque



Frankfurt/ Stuttgart, 18 September 2012.      The Aston Martin Vanquish is the most beautiful sports car in Germany. According to readers of the motoring magazine “auto motor und sport” who voted for Vanquish in this year’s selection for the best in design innovation. The “autonis” Design Award for 2012 goes to Aston Martin for the fourth year in a row.

The Vanquish won the “sports car” category with a noticeable margin ahead of seven other competitors. More than half of the reader’s votes went to the Aston Martin.

“This is a great victory and another highlight to add to a string of awards that the Vanquish has received even before its introduction to the market. We are very proud of this,” said Jeffrey L. Scott, Managing Director of Aston Martin Lagonda of Europe, after receiving the “autonis” on Tuesday evening in Stuttgart. “The Vanquish makes a powerful statement. It stands for the success of Aston Martin, as a globally recognized manufacturer of high performance and elegant sports cars celebrating its Centenary in 2013.”

The Vanquish is the new flagship model of the Aston Martin sports car range. Featuring a 6 litre V12 engine, bringing 573 PS at 6,750 rpm to the road, and an all-carbon fibre body, the first customer cars will be delivered in Europe towards the end of 2012.

Nearly 15,000 readers of the magazine “auto motor und sport” took part in this year’s “autonis” reader’s vote. Their choice for their “Most Beautiful Car 2012” was made from a selection of 102 new models in eight categories.
